You should think of your folio as a collection of different ideas that can be used on professional placement or in your first year as a classroom teacher. You will need to choose a year level or age group to focus on. This can be your choice.?
Your folio will need to explicitly target the development of?number sense and should be linked to the relevant curriculum for the year level or age group that you have chosen.
Your folio should include the following:
- Introduction: An introduction that outlines how children develop number sense. This explanation should focus on your chosen age group/year level, take into consideration the developmental nature of mathematics learning, and be linked to relevant research literature (500 words).
- Five activities: These should be five activities that you believe will help children in your chosen age group/year level build number sense. Be specific about how your chosen activities are developing number sense skills (100 words for each activity?500 words in total).
- Overview: An overview of what you will see in each activity that will demonstrate learning (250 words).
- Explanation: An explanation of how you would build on this understanding (250 words).
