I do think the United States needs to control the rising costs of health care because medicare and medicaid could become bankrupt unless the rising health care costs could be managed (under control) and rising health care costs are the greatest portion of the total economic output. According to Health System Tracker "The average annual growth in health spending during the 2010s was over the first two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, health spending grew by 13.2% from 2019 to 2021 or 6.4% annually averaged over the 2 years." The pandemic added onto the cost of health spending nationally and also for good and services in stores. But over the few years of the pandemic health spending has grown by 13.2% between 2019-21, and has become one of the greatest portions of the economic output. An increase of physician and clinic visits, medical good, and dental care has been added as a factor of the amount spent during the pandemic. Between 2020-21 each enrollee spending to get medicare and private insurance increased but decreased for medicaid. Since the price for everything has increased, it is hard for some to afford visits to their doctors or receive treatment. So getting health insurance was either a hit or miss because you could either afford it or not, which shouldn't be a problem because access to health care should be accessible to everyone.
