Consider the case of two wired Ethernet LAN segments, connected to a computer acting as a gateway device.

A process on one host connected to one of the LAN segments wishes to use UDP/IP to exchange an application-layer query and its reply with a process on a host connected to the other LAN segment.

Initially - Both hosts know their own IP address and the IP address of the gateway device. None of the three devices knows the Ethernet addresses used by the other two devices. The gateway does not know the IP addresses of either host

a. Describe the sequence of Ethernet frames necessary to deliver the datagram.

b. For each Ethernet frame, in the order they will be transmitted on the LAN segments, identify all forms of source-destination connectivity in all protocol layers of each frame
