Josh was riding his bike near his home. Although there was a law prohibiting Josh from riding on the sidewalk, Josh decided to disregard the law and rode his bike on the sidewalk. As Josh reached the intersection at the bottom of his hill he suddenly crashed into Jamie who happened to be walking on the sidewalk, as she was permitted to do. The crash knocked Jamie to the ground causing her to suffer a broken arm. As a result she had to go to the hospital where she incurred several hundred dollars in hospital bills.
