Please record the following transactions in the journal below for Cardinal County's general fund.

1 Purchased and received supplies, $3,000, and paid cash. Cardinal County decided not to record an encumbrance for this.

2 Purchased two police cars, totalling $89,000. Paid $30,000 cash and signed a 3-month note payable for the remainder.

3 Issued long-term debt, 15-year bonds, face value of $500,000, these bonds were issued at 102 (102% of face value), cash was received.

4 Paid off long-term debt, $100,000.

5 The general fund transferred $8,000 to the Capital Projects Fund (CPF) to assist with CPF activities. This will not be repaid by the CPF.

6 The general fund borrowed $4,000 from the special revenue fund. The general fund will repay this in 9 months.

7 The general fund lent $9,000 to the debt service fund. The debt service fund will not repay this for several years.

8 The County was awarded a grant of $80,000 in which it receives the cash then passes the cash onto townships within the county

with the Townships spending the money on various Township rennovations (pass-through grant). The County has the decision-

making responsibility of determining how much to pay to each township. Please record the $80,000 receipt by the County.

9 The County is awarded another grant, $26,000, in which it receives the cash then passes the cash onto municipalities, with

the municipalities using the cash to paint various Star Trek characters on the city manager's and mayor's car. In this case, the

granting agency (State of Michigan) decided how much each municipality receives, the County simply receives the cash then

passes it on. Please record the $26,000 receipt by the County.

10 The County pays its annual property insurance policy, $15,000, on January 1. This policy covers the County from this date to the

end of the year, December 31. Please record the January 1 journal entry.
