According to this article by Daily Collegian "Freshman wrestler Cary Kolat has been suspended indefinitely by Coach John Fritz following an alcohol-related incident on campus early Sunday morning". Kolat was found on the curb by university police drunk and passed out; and later charged with public drunkeness. Kolt was 5th in the nation and had a record of 12-3 for the top-ranked lions. Kolat was allows to continue practicing with the team but was suspended from further competitions.

Ethical dilemnas can incluse the offense taken by athletes to be managed with such viscosity; however, there is a high level of exellence demanded by any athletic program aiming to produce high quality players and reputation. The author states "...We are determined to deal severely with conduct that fails to reflect the high personal standards to which we hold our wrestlers as individuals and athletes."

In running your own sport organization, how would you handle this situation? Would it be any different than it was handled here (if you found any information on that aspect of the situation).

I would handle this situation exactly as the management in the school's progrwm handled it. I believe this was taken care of effectively without causing permanant damage to the athlete's career.
