1. I think that the diversity in college helps develop us in early adulthood because it gives us a chance to see the world through other peoples perspective. For the most part, we graduate high school and like to take on our new adventure as a college student and move away from home. No longer under our parents or guardians roof, we are able to make our own decisions, and live with the consequences of them. As young adults, we now are among so many different people with different backgrounds, stories/ histories, and different ways they cope with every day life. The diversity in a college can be from gender, ethnicity, and even religion that we may have not been introduced to before. College can really help open our minds and see the world through other perspectives as well as the bigger picture and how there is so much about life that we just haven't learned yet! I think that my personal experience at Arizona College has helped me look at the world differently because of the people I have met. There are some that are doing this straight out of high school and already had their mind made up knowing what they wanted to do, some that have worked 2 or more jobs to put themselves through this school, some that are in their 30's like myself who are going for a career change, and so much more. But the one common ground we all have is that we care for people and want to help people. Although we all come from so many different backgrounds and we are all so diverse, it makes this world so much more of an interesting place!

2. Students who are exposed to diversity develop strong social skills, high regard for others, and an appreciation of what makes them unique regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religion, race, and beliefs. I believe that diversity in college teaches young adults how to be sympathetic, kind, considerate, accepting, and open-minded. Colleges with more diversity offer more opportunities to interact and meet people from diverse backgrounds, which improves the learning environment. Multiracial/multiethnic learning environments can help teachers and their students achieve significant goals. This learning environment setting promotes both intellectual growth and personal growth in students. It pushes students to confront their prejudices, broadens their horizons, and their perspective and critical thinking are encouraged in multiracial/multiethnic classrooms (F.|Gudeman, 2019). Additionally, it instills the importance of treating everyone with respect despite their differences. Lastly, by interacting with different people of different backgrounds, young adults can develop their character and gain the confidence to deal with situations in the real world, preparing them for the transition to adulthood. I can say that my experience with Arizona College has changed the way I view the world. It was unquestionably very different from my college experience in the Philippines because here I had to juggle work and studies just like most of the students that I have met along the way. Also, I have met and interacted with students from all backgrounds. The diversity of students has taught me to appreciate our individual differences. It has taught me a lot about respecting other people and has improved my ability to interact with people from different backgrounds.

1. I have a lot of respect for students who can balance their studies and their jobs at the same time. I can say from personal experience that it is never easy. You must find not only the time but also the determination to make it work. I agree that experiencing diversity in college as an early adult helps one to grow because it gives that individual the opportunity to view the world from the perspectives of others. The benefit of this course was that it allowed us to collaborate with a group on a weekly basis. This group activity taught us to be respectful of one another and to work as a team despite our diverse backgrounds.

2. , I appreciate the information you've provided in your post. I really like and agree with "It pushes students to confront their prejudices, broadens their horizons, and their perspective". This is a wonderful point! I also believe the diversity of college helps students by helping strengthen our communities and will help better prepare for diversity in future workplace. Diversity can promote personal growth by challenging stereotype preconceptions (ACE Board of Directors, 2012). By having a better understanding of various cultures or belief it can helps students learn to communicate more effectively. For us nursing students, we are going to be dealing with all kinds of divers groups of patients and this is a great way to gain experience and understanding so we can better serve our patients.
