Example2: Create two directories dl and d2 and two files cl and c2. Inside directory dl: Create three files (fl, f2, and f3), and move directory dl into d2. Do the following: Archive and compress d2 to a file named archive.tar.gz , Compress the directory /usr/local and the directory /etc/passwd to a file named archivel.tar.gz. as shown: $ tar -czyf archive.tar.gz d2 $ ls $ tar -czvf archivel.tar.gz /usr/local /etc/passwd $ls Write the results. Add the file cl to the archived file archivel.tar.gz (how? Write the command for this case and executed on the terminal) Now , remove the two directories dl and d2, cl and c2 Then, extract the contents of archive.tar.gz and archivel.tar.gz to the current directory: $ tar -xzvf archive.tar.gz $ tar -xzvf archivel.tar.gz $ ls Write the results. Note: You can see that these directories are achieved, compressed, and saved on your working directory (i.e. saved on the Desktop)
