Please solve the prelab only

Synchronous Generators I. OBJECTIVE Explore the operation of a synchronous generator when it is both synchronized and unsynchronized with II. PRE-LAB Read the set-up for Part 1 and draw a diagram of the circuit that is being described. You do not need to include the DAQ or computer in the diagram, just the synchronous generator, prime mover, resistive load, synchronizer, and power supply. Include the voltage and current meters For this experiment, a variety of resistive loads will be needed. Create a list of possible resistances you could create from one resistor module containing resistances of 600, 300 and 1200 which can be connected in parallel. Assume each phase of the module will need to have an identical resistance 1. 2. III. EQUIPMENT Name Power Supply DAQ Synchronous Motor/Generator Prime Mover/Dynamometer Resistive Load Synchronizer Module Number 8821-20 9062-10 8241-00 8960-10 8311-00 IV. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE Part 1: Svnchronous Generator - Stand Alone Operation 1. 2. 3. 4. Put the prime mover/dynamometer in the prime mover mode Mechanically connect the synchronous generator module to the prime mover Connect the variable DC output on the power supply to the prime mover input. Connect the synchronizer so that the top side is connected to the fixed 120/208 V output on the power supply Configure El and Il to measure the phase voltage across (phase to neutral) and the current from the supply to the synchronizer in a single phase Ensure that the synchronizer is switched off ("O") a. b. Wye-connect the synchronous generator so that one side is connected to the neutral of the fixed 120/208 power supply and the other side is connected to the bottom of the synchronizer. 5. Configure E2 and 12 to measure the phase voltage across (generator output to neutral) and the current flowing from the synchronous generator to the synchronizer. This should be the corresponding phase to that instrumented from the fixed supply a. 6. Wye connect the resistive load so that one side is connected to neutral and the other is connected to the bottom of the synchronizer module. a. Ensure all loads are switched off Connect the exciter input on the synchronous generator to the fixed 120 VDC output on the power supply 7. a. Configure 13 to measure the current to the exciter 10 Synchronous Generators I. OBJECTIVE Explore the operation of a synchronous generator when it is both synchronized and unsynchronized with II.
