Your manager reviewed the absenteeism data from 10 employees selected randomly and found that the average in this sample of was 12.2 days, while last year, the average across all employees was 10.1 days of absenteeism. The standard deviation in this sample was 4 days. Knowing this, you explained to your boss that he should not jump to conclusions after only seeing this small sample size, but your boss does not seem convinced. Formulate a hypothesis test using a significance level of 1% to determine if there is evidence that absenteeism has changed (use a two-tailed test). State your conclusion in plain English.
