Please use the data set titled: GE Dataset
This data set is a sample from a larger population. For the variables diabetes, hypertension, stroke and coronary heart disease, 0 = no and 1 = yes.
Please refer to the guidance documents in the "Displaying data in table and figures" folder.
Use R to run the statistics. You may use Excel or another program to create your tables and histogram. Use APA format
The data set provided includes the following 8 variables: gender, age, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, coronary heart disease, smoking and BMI. For each variable, describe the data type (e.g. categorical, discrete or continuous) and measurement scale (nominal, ordinal, ratio or interval) and provide your rationale for choosing this type and scale. Your answer should be in point form.
Create a frequency distribution table and histogram of the data provided for the age variable. You should make decisions about the number of "bins" to put the data in, based on the guidance provided in the module 2 materials and resources provided.
Using R, calculate measures of central tendency (mean, median and mode) and measures of spread (range, interquartile range, variance and standard deviation) for the following variables and present in a table:
Age
Age of males
Age of females
BMI of females aged 18 and older
Need a table describing patient sample characteristics for all variables (see Table 2. Patient Sample Characteristics from the "Table examples from Tiessen et al Study"). Hint: you will only have one column of data.
