Popular culture is the set of beliefs, art, and practices that is popular in a society at a particular time. This can include things like movies, TV shows, music, art, books, and video games. In your final paper, you will be asked to explore how cognitive psychology is represented in popular culture. To prepare you for the final paper, at four points in the term you will be asked to choose two topics that were recently covered in class and find examples of how those topics have been represented in popular culture, either accurately or inaccurately.

Instructions:

• Topics could include the constructive nature of memory, normal forgetting, more serious forms of forgetting like Alzheimer's disease or dementia, eyewitness testimony, flashbulb memories, false confessions, childhood amnesia, language perception, ambiguity in language, language and technology, making inferences, the relationship between language and music, etc.
