Discuss the differences between linear and nonlinear optimization methods. Include specific examples of nonlinear optimization methods, and discuss which aspects of these models make them different from traditional linear optimization methods.

Student: In linear programing, the objective is the sum product of the decision variables. They are also related in a linear trend. So, if the decision variable grows, the objective will grow or decrease based on a slope. In nonlinear programming there isnt a linear relationship between the decision variables and the objective. There could be a power relationship or a logarithm relationship. There could also be a relationship where the decision variable depends on the objective. (Winston & Albright, 2019)
