An executive summary is a one-page document that outlines the purpose, process, discussion, and findings of a report submitted to management. Assignment Description The Discussion Board (DB) is part of the core of online learning. Classroom discussion in an online environment requires the active participation of students and the instructor to create robust interaction and dialogue. Every student is expected to create an original response to the openended DB question as well as engage in dialogue by responding to posts created by others throughout the week. At the end of each unit, DB participation will be assessed based on both level of engagement and the quality of the contribution to the discussion. At a minimum, each student will be expected to post an original and thoughtful response to the DB question and contribute to the weekly dialogue by responding to at least two other posts from students. The first contribution must be posted before midnight (Central Time) on Wednesday of each week. Two additional responses are required after Wednesday of each week. Students are highly encouraged to engage on the Discussion Board early and often, as that is the primary way the university tracks class attendance and participation. The purpose of the Discussion Board is to allow students to learn through sharing ideas and experiences as they relate to course content and the DB question. Because it is not possible to engage in two-way dialogue after a conversation has ended, no posts to the DB will be accepted after the end of each unit. These are three different leaders who hold the position of a CEO or President of their organization. Mark Zuckerberg as everyone should know is the CEO of Facebook which is a social network used by billions around the world. Revenue continues to grow year by year as his multiple leadership styles gives the organization exactly what it is needed to be successful. (Unknown, 2015) Jeanie Buss is the President of the Los Angeles Lakers one of the thirty teams in the NBA. She also owns part of the organization in which she shares that ownership with her brothers. Jeanie at the end of the day makes the ultimate decision though she leaves the people in charge of their role to do their job. When that job is not getting done correctly, she has the power to step in and change it. Then you have Douglas McMillion who is the President and CEO of Walmart which is another organization I'm sure everyone has heard of. Walmart has been one of the largest and most successful retailers in the world and they seem to be just be expanding year by year. The purpose of this research is to discuss the leadership styles of these individuals for a management journal. What is trying to be concluded from this research is how each individual uses their leadership styles. I want the reader to gain a full understanding of how leadership styles can be completely different as well as the same. What makes things interesting is the fact that the article is covering three totally different organizations which allow the reader to gain the complete concept of how and why each leader use the leadership styles that they use. There's a reason why the success is at a high factor for each of these three organizations and their leadership styles is what help creates the success that the company needs. How is the organization being impacted with these three leaders? The reader will also see what exactly about their leadership skills that impact the organization from a positive perspective as well as possibly a negative perspective. This research was done as part of an assignment in the class \"Leadership and Ethics for Managers\". This is an individual project conducted by myself. There are several steps that were taking to conduct the findings for this research. The thought process was the first initiative. What three leaders will catch the attention of the readers? How can I draw a crowd in and pull their interest towards wanting to read my article. The thought process started about a month ago. It was not just about my readers that I needed to be concerned about but also about myself. Part of doing research is having some interest. How can I conduct a research that draws me to wanting to do it? How can I pull the attention of myself to wanting to do this project? I had to find three leaders that I knew I was comfortable with, that I had some kind of interest with, and that I felt I could find good information on which drew me to my decision. The people that I was going to conduct the research on was a given so now what kind of leadership style do they each use. Three leadership styles instantly clicked on for each person and coincidental each seem to carry the same three leadership styles which I felt would make the article that much more interesting because the reader would be able to see each person using the same leadership style but in different ways. The research process also contained discovering what the problem is. Is there a problem? There was not a problem pertaining to what I was researching but I had to determine was the focus of the study was. What is the purpose of this research? The process also consist of reviewing Unit 5 assignment from time to time to keep reminding myself what the research is pertaining to. Brainstorming was initially the next phase writing down ideas that could be added to the research while also understanding not to get to off the topic of what the research is pertaining to. I pictured and saw a visualization of what and how I was going to do everything and just mapped all on paper. I started off by pulling up some good references that I knew would be of assistant to my research and basically saved the reference for once I'm ready to use it. Additional study and research is needed to complete my research. There are more resources that need to be added to the research. The unresolved issues at this point is discussing how each leader applies their leadership style and what can be changed to make the organization better. Does anything need to be changed? The leadership styles of Mark Zuckerberg, Douglas McMillion, and Jennie Buss are three perfect examples people using transformational leadership, autocratic leadership, and democratic leadership.
