The production head informed that many times storekeepers accept low quality, obsolete inventories from sellers, excess inventory levels go unchecked blocking the working capital. One day a supervisor was caught stealing products from the inventory. The Sales & marketing head informed that PR team was only floating redundant ideas of advertising the schemes to be offered by the company to buyers; there was sheer lack of creativity. In fact, he informed that when customers come to buy any item to our stores many customer sales representatives make them wait for over 15 minutes, many times they tell them to buy the item from Amazon.com, the other times they tell them to buy it from competitor's retail outlets just 30 minutes away from our store by lying to them that we don't have enough good features in our products to suit the customers' requirements. The HR head PGDM General HRM102 IEGD Tri I 2 added to Prakash's shock when he told him the general incivility in the workplace is rising. Junior, more younger in age line managers, speak abrasively and rudely with older experienced subordinates hurling open accusations at them and disrespecting them in front of entire office staff. Many managers turn late intentionally at meetings, many try to sabotage others' viewpoints and whole discussion in meetings. Employees have been caught spreading false, malicious rumours about co-workers and blaming co-workers and subordinates for any failure which actually happened because of their own negligence. In short, the workplace is coming to be characterized as filled with deceit, aggression, psychopathy &intent to harm others. Prakash asked HR about what the attrition rate was and what were the results of the employee attitude survey? To which the HR replied 15% more than the industry average and the results of survey were unimpressive: people complain of 24X7 work culture with no flexibility at all, work-family balance hit badly, jobs being monotonous and repetitive, low person-job fit post recruitment, huge difference in opinion between two age groups working together in the office in superiorsubordinate dyads, no appreciation for achievements and so on. Prakash asked for solution to which HR gave a hazy answer "When we don't bother about internal customers (employees) general wellbeing, it starts reflecting in the form of business metrics, customer grievance records & employee turnover intent".
