Predictions: Qualitative: According to the laws of conservation of energy, the horizontal distance the package travels when dropped from a fixed height can be determined if one knows the Total Energy present in the system when the package is dropped. The package is dropped at rest from a point when the system's total energy is gravitational potential energy; the package gains both translational and kinetic energy at a rate equivalent to that which gravitational energy is being lost. Based on this knowledge and knowing the height of the ramp and ground relative tothe height from which the package is dropped, we can determine the package's velocity exiting the ramp via the formula, V1,: '/'l (Equation 1.), where hr is the height of the helicopter above the ramp, h is the height of the ramp above the ground, and c is the constant relative to a specific shape's moment of inertia. Knowing the package's velocity exiting the ramp in the xadirection from eq. 1, we could utilize two kinematics formulas, I : 'fwl and A X : Vft to solve for the displacement in the x-direetion as a function of height and the object'sconstant value associated with its moment ofinertia, "C". Therefore, in keeping the height of the helicopter and ramp constant, we expect the package's horizontal displacement to depend on the constant associated with the shape's moment of inertia; a larger \"C" value will yield a smaller horizontal displacement. Conversely, in altering the height and keeping the shape being dropped constant, one expects a lower height on the ramp to yield a small horizontal xdisplacement.
