Hello, class! 

I am here in front of you now as an aircraft maintenance technician. It's a job that calls for a lot of practice, focus, and tolerance for tedium. I will go over maintenance procedures and crew chief duties. Have you ever wondered how the United States can maintain its air superiority or how planes can fly nonstop without breaking? In addition to having pilots with the proper training, these planes also have a very capable ground crew that is always checking them out and fixing anything that needs fixing. I have been around for about 27 years of background in aircraft maintenance. I am the current shop chief of the support section, my experience in a wide variety of aviation maintenance roles, responsible for things like checking the status of the aircraft's toolkit and test set and performing FOD (Foreign Object Damage) control once maintenance is complete. There is a lot of background knowledge on how to become an airplane mechanic before the discussion of why I chose and now enjoy this trade. I did not enter the Air Force with the necessary skills for the job.

To become an aircraft mechanic, one must complete a rigorous academic program. I've continued my technical education ever since I entered this career field. Initial education was at Sheppard AFB, TX.   Classroom based study of aviation theory and principles supplemented by some practical experience. The level of difficulty in this course necessitated a significant time commitment for study. Considering my preference for hands-on work, this presented a significant challenge. Upon finishing this intensive training, during which I gained invaluable knowledge, I was shipped out to a Tanker base for KC 135 air refueling squadron for four months. In the end, instruction was made available for me. That was one of my strong suits. At last, I got to put my wrench skills to use on real airplanes. The more I studied, the more I realized how important it was to pay close attention to detail and prioritize safety. This is yet another advantage of working in the aviation industry.

To stay safe around planes and make sure nobody else is hurt, you have to pay close attention to every little detail. Maintenance Safety & Prevention stresses the importance of a zero-risk environment for all aspects of aviation maintenance and repair. In retrospect, to recognize how deeply values like safety and attention to detail have been engrained in me throughout my professional journey. An airplane can't stay in the air without meticulous attention to detail. A careful eye is needed during aviation inspections to ensure nothing is missed. For instance, I perform a pre- and post-maintenance tool count to ensure that all tools are accounted for, and this level of care is taken since attention to detail is crucial. A task is considered incomplete until a missing tool is found, at which point everyone stops what they're doing and looks for it. A high level of care and adherence to security measures is required because of the regular contact the with aircraft. I must be able to spot potentially dangerous or faulty products. In this way, all crew on board will be protected. Potential implications exist if they fail to identify issues. I've come to appreciate my position, despite the fact that I must always be at their best to succeed in my chosen area.

I have an extreme amount of respect and enthusiasm for this line of work. I was brought up on a farm and taught from an early age the value of hard labor. As I got older, I understood that I had natural mechanical abilities. Even so, my reasoned that I required more of a test. I wanted to become an aircraft mechanic and so enlisted in the Air Force. As kids, I'm used to seeing planes flying overhead because they lived under the flight path of a major airport. Since childhood, I've wondered how these planes worked. In order to better grasp it, I sought information. The airplane is a huge metal structure that can fly in the air defying the laws of gravity. They reasoned that it would be smart to look into the possibility of becoming an airplane mechanic. I knew I've made the right decision when I enlisted in the Air Force and started my dream. I had it very easy. Maintaining such a stunning plane provides me with daily satisfaction. Nothing else in the world would ever interest me enough to change careers.

A person needs more than just enthusiasm and commitment to find a fulfilling job path. I appreciate the regular reminder that my efforts are appreciated. However, being a qualified aircraft mechanic needs extensive study and a strong will to succeed. All parties involved need to exercise extreme caution and focus on the smallest of details to avoid any mishaps, keep this in mind and always give 100%. I hold myself and fellow mechanics to a very high standard.
