Mike, 58 years old, is a new resident in your residential aged care facility. Mike has been paralysed following a carbon monoxide poisoning two years ago and is completely dependent on others for personal care. Mike incurred a speech impairment following the incident but can talk in simple sentences to express his needs.

Paola, Mike's partner, had been caring for him for two years. Paola had a part-time job and had to seek help from Mike's sister's when she went to work. However, Karen, Mike's sister,

suffered from chronic back pain and it had become difficult for her to support Mike and they considered transferring Mike to your residential aged care facility.

You are required to make presentation for following tasks:

1. What are the issues and problems being faced by Mike?
2. Write the support option available for each problem you have identified for Mike.
3. How can you apply strength based approach in this scenario?
4. Identify Paola's and Karen's knowledge and skills that will complement your work.
