In order to gain insight into the management strategy related to responsible management, you will assume a management role at Honeywell. View their website including their About Us section, and respond to the following questions:

  1. Apply ethical principles which can impact ethical behavior by addressing the following:
    1. Review this U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration Press Release which cites a Honeywell division for multiple process safety management violations. Next, describe how each of the following ethical principles, if followed in advance, could have positively impacted management's behavior, allowing Honeywell to avoid this violation:
      1. Utilitarianism
      2. Universalism
      3. Virtue
    2. Review this U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Press Release which describes the outcome of their lawsuit against Honeywell for age discrimination. Next, describe how each of the following ethical principles, if followed in advance, could have positively impacted management's behavior, allowing Honeywell to avoid this lawsuit:
      1. Moral Rights
      2. Legal Rights

Review this U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Corrective Action page which discusses hazardous waste cleanup resulting from a legal settlement with Honeywell related to one of their operations in Pennsylvania.
