PROBLEM 3: The SPSS tables, supplied below, summarize the results of a two-factor ANOVA evaluating a State Dependent Learning experiment examining the effect of Study State and Test State on Exam Scores. Two levels of Study State [No Alcohol Studying (NAS) and Alcohol Studying (AS)] were crossed with two levels of Test State [No Alcohol Test (NAT) and Alcohol Test (AT )]. A) (41 points) Do a complete hypothesis test (two-tailed a=.05) for main effects and interaction, based on these results. For each step, label each effect by variable name (not "Factor A", or "F actor B"). Use level name abbreviations (rather than numerical subscripts) for your hypotheses. In Step 3, provide the degrees of Freedom, and the p value as well as the F statistic for each effect, written in the APA style shown in lecture. Use the appropriate information from the output (NOT a critical value of F) to support your decisions for each effect. B) (15 points) Summarize the results in a matrix table, including marginal means. Be sure to completely label the table. C) (4 points) Describe any main effects based on both your hypothesis test and the marginal means. D) (16 points) Present the results in a graph. Be sure to completely label the graph. E) (4 points) Would you recommend drinking alcohol before a test? Explain your answer, and be sure to consider the results of your hypothesis test, the matrix from part B, and the graph from part C.
