Problem 4-2 Game Day Shuttle Service a You run a game day shuttle service for parking services for the local ball club. Your costs for different customer loads are 1: $30, 2: $32, 3: $35, 4: $38, 5: $42, 6: $48, 7: $57. and 8: $68. What are your marginal costs for each customer load level? If you are compensated $10 per ride. what customer load would you want? The marginal cost (MC) is how much the cost is for us to sell one more unit, or in this example pick up one more passenger. Based off of the information I have found the base rate for the company to run a shuttle service at the game. The base cost is $30. After the base cost the company has a price increase for each additional passengers. For the rst passenger they are included in the base cost. For the second passenger the marginal cost raises an additional two dollars. The third and fourth passenger each have an additional cost of three dollars. The fifth passenger is an additional MC cost of four dollars, sixth passenger is six dollars. seventh passenger is nine dollars and the eighth passenger has an additional MC cost of eleven dollars. The more passengers that come on the shuttle, the larger the marginal revenue grows. With one passenger the company earns $20 (as l, the driver am compensated $10 per ride) where as with eight passengers the company earns $58 (as I, the driver am only compensated $10 per ride). I would want the passenger load of one because even as the cost is more for higher number of passengers. my compensation does not rise. However if I owned the game clay shuttle service I would want the eight passenger load because I am gaining a prot of $58 for eight passengers instead of instead of $20 for one passenger. This gain does not include the base cost taken out to operate the shuttle. Passengers Cost (S) (#J anh (MC) ($) + + + + + + iiillill 68 +11
