The company has expanded, and it has decided to redevelop its HQs existing LAN (see the above diagram) to achieve the companys following business and technical goals.
The Business goals:
Improved communications, wireless, VoIP, etc. Protect company information
Technical goals:
- Scalability company plans to increase employee by 15% in next 12 months;
- Remote Access- employees have access to company resources from both company and home (different servers);
- Performance network performance must be high
- Security protection of company information and other IT assets
- Flexibility- network should be flexible enough to create logical grouping as required.
- Availability wireless network access is available in all employees as well as some outdoor areas for software developers and employees
You are free to make as many assumptions you wish regarding the existing organizational structure including management hierarchy, business requirement, etc. which will need to be documented in the appropriate sections of your report.

The company HQ has 6 departments: Software Development, Solution Design, Customer Support, Sales, Finance and Human Resource detailed as follow:

The uSoft HQ is located in a 6-stories building with the floor plan as pictured below (you are welcome to redesign the floor plan if you wish). In HQ, the company plans to put each department on a separate floor. However, there is also an option to have the software and solution design developments to occupy two floors while other departments will share the other four. The network is therefore should be flexible enough to meet both options.

A standard industry design should be designed. We add (in the right place) network devices such as firewalls to protect the network. WiFi is a necessary part of a modern network. As the HQ is connected to the branch offices, you will need to show how the HQ is connected to the branch offices. Your textbook has this information shown as Best Practice Design for LAN (campus).
There are two ways of presenting a network, the logical view and the physical view. Please read the CCNA chapter 3 in Resources which describes these two viewpoints. You will need to make both a logical and a physical diagram of the HQ network based on the network shown above with the three routers. This is your network diagrams mentioned in the rubric below.
