Problem Solving Question

Pink is a former singer turned politician. She has recently announced that she will be standing for election to the Australian Senate as an Independent Senator for Sydney, Australia. Pink is a larger-than-life character who is flamboyant in both her personal style and her personality.

She often sports brightly dyed hair and wears unusual clothes. She sees her personal style as her 'trade mark' and she works closely with stylists and her public relations team to constantly update and promote her image.Pink appears regularly on TV and radio shows about current affairs, both in Australia and overseas. Her extreme policies on LGBTQ, immigration and free trade have attracted the attention of the UK media.

Beyonce is a UK political commentator and former adviser to former UK President Bobo. She frequently criticises Pink's policies on immigration, as well as Pink's style. Beyonce publishes an article in an online UK newspaper, The Freedom. The article claims that Pink's style is 'so 2000s', that she is 'Hitler's biggest fan', that she should 'seriously consider botox' and that she is well-known among her male colleagues as being a 'total sleaze'. These comments are not supported by any further details.

Pink wrote a letter to The Freedom in response to their article, but the editors chose not to publish that. The Freedom has approximately 50,000 readers living in Australia who subscribe to receive the weekly publication.

Advise whether Pink would likely be successful in bringing a defamation action in Sydney against the UK newspaper as well as Beyonce.
