To plan and design an experiment in thermal sciences and conduct the actual experiment in the lab during the semester under the supervision of the Lab supervisor.
The task is to be accomplished by groups consisting of 4 to 5 students in each group. Each group must submit a proposal before the 18th of December 2023 and must obtain the approval of the Lab Instructor
The group will conduct the actual experiment before the end of the semester (2 weeks before the finals) under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor.
Outline for the Experiment Proposal
Briefly describe the experiment and its objectives.
Detailed description of the experiment along with required figures
Description of the theoretical background
Detailed description of how to conduct the experiment.
Expected outputs with necessary data sheets to be filled in during the experiment.
Suggested experiments: Design of experiment exercise.
Temperature distribution in a pin fin.
Convective heat transfer coefficient in a conduit.
Finned tube performance.
Biofuel from used cooking oil.
Performance of PV cells enhancement using cooling techniques
