Professor Michael Porter created the Five Forces tool 30 years ago to help companies evaluate the competitive environment so they can understand how their profitability would be impacted. In the first two weeks of class, we covered this tool in detail. Now it is time for you to use the Five Forces to evaluate a scenario. At a high level, if this is what competition does, how will the tool help you look for profitability? NOTE: You are to assume it is a normal year and there is no impact of COVID-19.

Assignment Overview: For this assignment, you need to select one of the following industries to conduct your analysis: Plant-based meat Video platforms (e.g., zoom, MS Teams) Cleaning supplies (e.g., Lysol, Clorox)

What are the two most important forces to consider for the industry that you have selected? Describe why you believe this to be true.

You need to submit a document to the Senior Leadership Team providing the following sections: 1. Title Page and Table of Contents 2. Introduction - describe the industry you selected and how the five forces tool can be used to help a company in the industry. 3. Describe your reasons for selecting your two forces. 4. Complete your assessment of the external environment using just these two forces for the industry you selected. 5. Conclusion - what did you learn that is important for companies in the industry you selected to consider in the future? 6. Appendices and any supporting documents

Steps to Complete: 1. Review the assignment overview. 2. Provide data/answers to all the questions. 3. The document will have a maximum of ten (10) pages (excluding cover, table of contents and reference pages). Additional pages will be disregarded. 4. If you need to include additional lengthy information that is relevant to the project, you can use an Appendix. 5. Outline for Submission - Please follow heading guidelines. This should take you about 7-10 hours.
