In the fallof 2019, Princeton University in New Jersey offered Professor Fortalezaa permanent position in its History Department.Princeton has arranged for her to enter the United States as a lawful permanent resident.The job would commence in the fall of 2020.Although she was thrilled to be offered such a prestigious position with a well-regarded faculty, she hesitated to accept the position.She had recently married her long time fiance'.Her first husband had died in a tragic accident many years ago on an archeological trip up the Amazon River.Although she had two children at the time, she was very reluctant to remarry in the intervening years.

But time passes and the children grew older.Professor Fortaleza was now ready to marry a man she met several years ago whom her children love.He too is a professor, John Reciffe.Professor Fortaleza decided that she would accept the job offer at Princeton, but would marry Professor Reciffe in Brazil before they left for Princeton.Her two children were very happy that their mother was finally remarrying.The marriage occurred in Brazil in December, 2019.In March, 2020, they arrived in Princeton.
