The statistics course is required for nearly every major offered at the college and therefore is considered a strategic course for the college.Thecollege's leadership is very interested in the relationship between the class size of its statistics courses andstudents' final grades for the course.Specifically, the college is concerned with the low pass rate of some of its class sections and is determined to remedy the situation.The college'sinstitutional research department recently collected data for analysis in order to supportleadership's upcoming discussion regarding the low pass rate of some of its statistics class sections.

Final grades from a random sample of 300 class sections over the last five years were collected. The research division also conductedanalysis, using archiveddata, to determine the class size of these 300 class sections. The ClassNumber, Campus, ClassSize, Average FinalGrade, Number of"F"s, Average G.P.A. andSuccessful/Unsuccessful (success defined as average final grade greater than 70) data were collected for these 300 class sections. Answer the following questions, remember that you will be working with the same dataset every week.

Before doing any project 1 make sure to read and understand slides covering the questions being asked. For example Project 1 asked you: 1) To determine the nature of data (quantitative or qualitative) and the level of measurement (Normal, ordinal, alternative, or ratio) of each column. 2) To identify the type of study (observational or experimental) For each question, make sure to explain your answer for full credit. You have to be careful on question 3 and 5. None of you get them correct. For hint, think of your final grade in this course or anyone. If a student gets a final score of 94 at the end of the semester, the professor will report A in Cuny First but not 94. Also everyone of you would rather have an A and not a F. Being said in which level of measurement would you classify GPA OR your average score? Is it meaningful to subtract A from F? The main difference between Ratio and interval is the zero meaning none, for example a zero in your bank account meaning no money ( Ratio) and a zero meaning something, for example zero degree in temperature meaning freezing (Interval). In adddition for a ratio, it is always possible to compare two values and form a ratio. If you need to redo the project, send me an email for request.
