Project Title

Purpose

The freshman resident students at Bowie state university do not have the privilege of having a car on campus except in a few cases with waiver submission and this can be traced to a lack of sufficient parking spots. Current payment methods have also been a huge concern as this is somewhat rigid, stressful, and discouraging. The only way to pay for parking is by either visiting the office of the student accounts in person or through the BSU card. This project aims at solving all of these problems and even more by introducing a more easy and convenient way as this will give key stakeholders a stress-free method of parking and in turn, improve the overall BSU parking system

Description

The new BSU Parking Reservation System is proffering a robust contemporary approach that is tagged "BSU Smart Parking System" which will leverage technology to deliver a hitch-free experience to targeted users. The Smart Parking System is an all-inclusive technology that will integrate key stakeholders such as students, faculty, staff, and visitors of BSU. The new system will use the built-in function of stakeholders' schedules and assign parking spaces electronically. This technology will also provide real-time forecasts of the parking system to enable random users to have an idea of what the car park situation would look like at any given time. The system will schedule, forecast, and manage the BSU Parking Reservation System.

Objective

The objective is to createa system that helps Bowie State students, faculty, staff, and visitors park their cars. The current system is a student parking pass system, which allows students to have a parking pass to park their cars on the school's general parking lots without a parking violation ticket. This project is adopting a smart parking system by creating an App that simplifies parking for students. The app will have features like seeing how many parking spots are available on campus, showing when the parking lot is busy, highlighting which parking spot is open, parking reservations, and other important perks

Success Criteria

The execution of this project will reform the BSU parking reservation system to a better shape by increasing parking availability by 20% within the first ten months after final delivery. This project will also deliver hitch-free parking access to its users by leveraging automated parking and this will in turn improve the BSU parking reservation system by 35% ...
