The hospitality sector is struggling due to a shortage of staff. This sector has hit a record high in the past two years[1]. The recent pandemic has hugely affected businesses like restaurants, cafes, and hotels.It has been forecasted that this crisis will not be ending any sooner[2].
PROJECT AIMS/OBJECTIVES
The aim of the Robot Waiter project is to design and built a robotic server that will assist and serve customers in the hospitality sector. The robot will have the task of taking orders and serving the customers.
- Specific: Design and build a robotic server that will take orders and serve customers.
- Measurable: A Work Breakdown Structure system will be implemented. The progress will be measured at each phase after the completion of each iteration.
- Attainable: With the availability of modern technology the project is attainable.
- Relevant: After discussing with the team, the project has been found to meet the goals for which it will be initiated.
- Time-bound: The project's total duration is set to be accomplished within a year.

The project should meet the aims and objectives which have initially been set within the allocated time frame. It will be expected to build a fully functional robotic server that will assist in taking orders and serving customers.
