To procure the services of a building company that specializes in basement installations. The company must design and install a finished basement in a four-bedroom detached house located at 1 Dinky Donk Road, Ajax, Ontario.

For this Part 1 of the term project your group is to develop an RFP for the project that has been assigned. You will therefore be operating as the buyer in this circumstance.

In Part 2 of the term project, you will be given an RFP and will be asked to prepare a proposal for the prospective project. In this case you will be operating as the seller.

In Part 3 of the term project, you will be evaluating the proposals that were submitted for the RFP that you sent out in Part 1. Your assessment of these proposals should be based on the evaluation criteria that you would describe in Part 1 of the term project. Therefore you must pay close attention to the evaluation criteria that you will submit as part of your RFP in this part of your group project. In part 3 of the term project your group will then make a presentation on how you went about making your evaluation, the pros and cons of each of the submissions that you reviewed, who had the best submission, and a sample of the contract that will be signed between you and the chosen group. Except for a 1 or 2 slide summary of your RFP you are not expected to rehash the material that you covered in parts 1 and 2 of your group project, but rather you must focus on the evaluation of those proposals that were submitted.
