Promoting Industry vs Inferiority

Purpose

This discussion is designed to help you recognize experiences that lead children to industry vs inferiority. You will draw from your reading, personal experience, and informal times you have observed children during their middle years.

Directions

For each of these common experiences in a child's life, describe a typical scenario or one from your own personal memories and describe how the experience or interaction might lead to the development of either industry or inferiority in the child. You will have three examples total.

1. School-related (teacher style, classroom set up, academic expectations, etc)
2. Home-life related (parenting style, expected home responsibilities, etc)
3. Out-of-Schoolexperience related (ie organized sports, neighborhood activities, other non-school related activities, etc
