1. A New year is normally an opportunity to reflect on one's life the previous year and set life-goals for the next. January 2024 was no exception for many people. However, events can happen that jolt such reflections and throw one into a different direction. This was certainly the case for the family caught up in events that took place in South C in the first week of January. A young lady was found dead in an 'AirBnB' in an apartment block in South C. According to media reports, the deceased entered into the facility at night in the company of a man and the next day her lifeless body was discovered by the owner of the apartment, following information from the guard at the facility. An autopsy conducted on the body revealed that she had been strangled and further that she had deep cut wounds in her thigh.

While the issue is criminal with suspected murder, it also raises concerns relevant to property theory.

In light of this case answer the following questions.

a. Identify and discuss the layers of property relationships implicated in this scenario. (10 marks)

b. Use the above scenario to discuss the difference between the legal fields of Property, Contract and Torts (15 marks)

c. What legal advice would you give operators of 'AirBnB' facilities to protect themselves from liability in circumstances such as the alleged murder as captured in the above scenario? (5 marks)
