Establish a practice of having communication with all aspects of the organization. If I needed to prepare for an emergency like Katrina I would first look at the emergency itself and what needs to be accomplished to restore normalcy. I would first plan for before the storm as in evacuations if necessary and possible this means people will be leaving the area and communication might be on hold for a little while. This also means waiting for some to set up in a safe place to communicate with each other. Next I would prepare for during the storm communication possibly will be down for an extended period of time electricity probably won't be available either. I would have everyone know who their supposed to check in with and that way everyone is in communication. If your unable to get in contact with that person multiple others will also be in contact with the group leads. Then after the storm I would access any loss to the company and contact any necessary people that
