Provide peer review for the following response
.What is the impact of culture on the degree that organizational behavior is ethical?
Corporate cultural influences the ethical behavior of an organization because it is the standard result of how top managers believe they should run a company. These beliefs are formulated around their personal values, customs and rules (Ferrell, Ferrell, & Fraedrich, p. 165, 2019). If top managers are acting in an ethical manner, it naturally attracts ethical employees and customers.
What examples of utilitarianism, the moral philosophy, in action within your organization?
My previous organization was an insurance company. We covered anything from homeowners' insurance to pet insurance. Utilitarianism is displayed in this organization in the way they choose to divide the cost of a peril (risk). Insurance organizations go through great lengthens to ensure they are ethically maximizing total utility behind the percentages divided amongst the organization, employees, and the insured person. To charge a client an unjustifiable percentage against a covered peril may be classified as unethical. To charge too little may result in the company going out of business. Therefore, all deductibles and premiums (costs and benefits) are charged at a reasonable amount for the greatest good for all parties involved.
