provide response to ;The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."[1] Under the First Amendment, there are two provisions surrounding religion: the Free Exercise Clause and the Establishment Clause, which at times can come into conflict.[2] The Free Exercise Clause ensures that individuals have the freedom to practice their religion, while the Establishment Clause prohibits the government from showing bias in religious matters or favoring or discriminating against individuals based on their beliefs or lack thereof.[3] Therefore, "[t]he boundaries of free exercise, like those of other rights, must be delineated as against the claims of society and of other individuals."[4] However, the majority of individuals, as well as the majority of courts, acknowledge that individuals possess a fundamental right to personal autonomy and control over their own bodies.[5]Additionally, the government in no shape or form can discriminate against any individual or group thereof based on their specific religious views that compel them to think in that particular way.[6] When the government attempts to mandate certain actions, they are exceeding their constitutional authority in regards to the principles of freedom of choice and freedom
