1. The two most important advantages of using a database management system in my opinion are improved data quality and increased efficiency. "Database Management Systems allow data to be validated and constrained to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness, which leads to higher data quality" (Al-Qudah, 2015). Improved data quality ensures that the data stored in the database is reliable and can be used for important decision-making processes. An example of an application that demonstrates the advantages of using a database management system is a hospital's patient records system. A hospital's patient records system stores important information about each patient, including their medical history, test results, and treatment plans. By using a database management system the hospital can ensure that this data is accurate and secure, and can quickly retrieve this data to provide timely and effective medical care. This can help to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs (Stair & Reynolds, 2018). 

Increased efficiency ensures that data can be retrieved and analyzed quickly, allowing for timely decision-making. "Database management systems automate many tasks associated with data management, such as data entry, data retrieval, and data analysis, reducing manual labor and saving time" (Elmasri & Navathe, 2016).  An example of a database management system that demonstrates this advantage is the customer database used by Amazon. Amazon's customer database stores information about each customer, including their name, address, and purchase history. By using a database management system, Amazon can ensure that this data is accurate and up-to-date, and can quickly retrieve this data to provide personalized recommendations and a smooth checkout process. This has helped Amazon to become one of the most successful online retailers in the world. 

 

 

2. There are a few advantages when it comes to database management that is useful and necessary in many cases. Database Management System is a collection of interrelated data and a set of software tools/programs that access, process, and manipulate data (harshitaseth2020, 2022). Database Management Systems (DBMS) are responsible for allowing access, retrieval, and use of data by using the proper security measures. The two important advantages are better data security and being simple. I know that may not be so popular for everyone else, but in my opinion, keeping it simple is major. This may not be so important in all, but when I am looking at a database, I like it to be simple so that I can understand what I am reading and move on with my task. If the database has a lot going on, it can be an entirely different task just trying to understand how to read it. Keeping it simple anyone can come up and read the database and have a quick grasp of the information being provided. Then, of course, we have data security, with data involved and how unreliable the web is security is a given. Anyone with data on an information system should ensure it is secure. Increasing the number of user access with data sharing and transferring increases the risk the security risk of the data. DBMS is a better platform for data privacy and security policies that improve data security (harshitaseth2020, 2022).
