  1. A course can have many sections, but in some semesters, no section will be open (Once a year course). A section must belong to a course. Course has the attributes NAME, ID, DEPARTEMNT. ID is the Primary Key.

  1. Each department has many professors assigned to it. One of those professors chairs the department. Only one of the professors can chair the department to (s)he is assigned, and no professor is required to accept the chair position. Therefore, DEPARTMENT is optional to PROFESSOR in the chairs relationship. A professor is assigned to a department. A department must have a chair.
