Session 1 OBJECTIVE
When people have a strong understanding of self, they are better equipped to develop and exhibit other professional skills. In this assignment, students will have the opportunity to reflect on who they are by creating a self-portrait of their strengths and areas for growth. DESCRIPTION
This assignment gives you an opportunity to think about who you are at this moment, both personally and professionally. You will be asked to create a self-portrait by filling out the Assignment 1 word document template available in Session 1.
Since this assignment calls for personal reflection, all work should be your own. There is no need for research from external sources.
Each question in the self-portrait exercise should be responded to in a minimum of 100 words. The questions are:
1. Reflect on how you see yourself in different roles.
Who are you as a student? Describe your strengths, motivators, and areas for growth in this role. Who are you as a friend and family member? Describe your strengths, motivators, and areas of growth in these roles. Who are you as a working professional? Think about the position you currently hold or jobs you've done in the past, and consider your strengths, motivators, and areas for growth in those roles. 2. Reflect on aspects of your life that contribute to self-understanding.
