It is one form of discrimination. The harasser can include peers, subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors, and clients. The prohibited range of behavior includes verbal comments, subtle or overt pressure for sexual activity, leering, pinching, patting, and other forms of unwanted touching as well as rape and attempted rape. There are federal and state laws that prohibit sexual harassment in the workplace and require that allegations of sexual harassment be filed with the EEOC before filing a lawsuit. Among other actions it may take, the EEOC may file a federal lawsuit seeking damages on the behalf of the employee, as it did in the following case
