  • No member of[GBC]should communicate in any form with journalists without permission from the Communications Manager.
  • All media enquiries should be directed to the Communications Officer.
  • All employees should provide information as quickly as possible to enable the Communications Officer to prepare an accurate statement.
  • All statements should be reviewed by the editor/publisher and approved by the Communications Manager before being released.
  • All media interviews are to be carried out with support and guidance from the Communications Team.
  • Training must be provided to ensure staff are aware of any corporate sensitivities and general controversial issues.
  • Employees should alert the Communications Manager to any sensitive or controversial issues that are likely to attract negative media attention as soon as possible.
  • The Communications Manager provide advice on how best to attract positive media coverage for good news, events and projects.
  • All media releases must be consistent with the[GBC's] strategic direction and values
  • The Communications Team will respond to any inaccurate or negative media coverage
  • All staff are responsible for ensuring that they do not post social media content (on any account), that may reflect adversely on themselves or the[GBC].
  • Photographs or video should not be used in publicity material without consent from staff or members of the public.
  • Any member of the public who is videoed or has their photograph taken to be used in publicity material for the[GBC] or to promote its services needs to sign a 'Photo Consent' form (Parental consent should be given for any patients under 18 years of age).
  • The Communications Team is responsible for managing all VIP/celebrity visits to the[GBC] (for example: MPs, celebrities and sports people).
  • No donation visits, however small or large, should take place without being logged and appropriate staffing organised to accompany the visiting members of the public.
  • All feedback received from students or other public members must be passed on to the Communications team and documented in a Feedback Register.
  • All meetings that take place within the communications team must be documented in written format (such as an email to all participants).
