The MDMP is a planning methodology to understand the situation and mission, develop a course of action, and produce an operation plan or order. Commanders initiate the MDMP upon receipt of, or in anticipation of, a mission. Define mission orders in your own words. Identify the types of mission orders and the characteristics of mission orders. Explain how the characteristics of mission orders assist the Commander and staff in the planning process during MDMP.
