Purpose Statement The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore the skills leadership should showcase and the styles that best align with employee performance and job satisfaction which could ultimately lead to an increase in productivity and a decrease in turnover. Zhu & Akhtar (2019) indicate that when followers receive signals from learning-oriented leaders that suggest that the leaders are open and receptive to their opinions and ideas, they will judge it safe to share their thoughts and comments on policies and practices and suggest changes to operational procedures. Sharing their opinion and views is mainly to help improve the organizational function, which is integral to the learning process. Also, Hanna et al. (2021) suggest that leader development is the expansion of the capacity of individuals to be effective in leadership roles and processes and consists of approaches used to prepare leaders to manage mutual commitments, interpersonal relationships, and social functions. Therefore, from a leadership perspective, this study intends to guide the criteria needed to increase employee motivation, which could lead to greater job satisfaction and relationships in the workplace
