Q3 Pt deposited on the outer surface of alumina is to be used as catalyst for oxidation of sulfur dioxide. The following table gives global rates of oxidation of sulfurdioxide at different temperatures on this catalyst. The rates were obtained by performing experiments in an isothermal reactor containing catalyst pellets over which a constant composition feed mixture of SO2 and air is flown at different temperatures. At the given conditions (feed concentration and conversion) you can assume that the reaction is elementary and is of first order with respect to SO2. The composition of the feed is held constant in all the experiments.
