Q2) A falling film column, operating at 1.0 atm and 35C, is used to study the diffusion of a solute "A" through a stagnant layer of "B" and then through non diffusing liquid. The equilibrium data is given in table Q2: Table Q2: Equilibrium data - falling film column XA 0 0.05 0.082 0.133 0.165 0.223 0.26 0.293 0.315 0.338 0.35 0.0225 0.038 0.075 0.1 0.15 0.2 0.25 0.3 0.35 0.4 At a certain point in the column in which the gas bulk concentration (yag = 0.3) and the liquid bulk concentration (XAL= 0.1), the film mass transfer coefficients in the gas phase and liquid phase were estimated to be (ky = 0.0015 kgmol A/sec.m.mol fraction) and (kx= 0.0022 kgmol A/sec.m.mol fraction) respectively. Calculate the following: - i- The interface concentrations xai and yai and the flux NA. ii- The overall mass transfer coefficients (KY) and (K). iii- The percent resistance in the gas and liquid films of the total resistance.
