Q2 Figure Q2 illustrates desulphurization of petroleum crude in a petroleum refining plant. Refer to the process description and Figure Q2, develop a P&ID diagram that consists of five (5) process control loops with justification (why the process control loop is needed and how it works). Stripper Hydrogen makeup Reactor High-pressure separator Hydrogen recycle Fuel gas Off-gas Unstabilized light distillate Feed Desulfurized product Figure Q2: Process flow diagram (PFD) for desulphurization of crude oil Process Description: The petroleum crude is heated and vaporized in a furnace and passed with hydrogen through a fixed bed reactor containing metal oxide catalyst operated continuously around 205C and 50 psi. After passing through the reactor, the treated oil is cooled and separated from the excess hydrogen. The treated oil is pumped to a stripper tower where hydrogen sulfide, formed by the hydrogenation reaction, is removed through the off-gas stream, and the finished product leaves the bottom of the stripper tower.
