Q4(a) Analyze the radiation properties with respect to the absorption, transmission and reflection for a surface exposed to thermal radiations. Evaluate the relation between these properties. (b) A piece of meat is at 27C and has an average surface area of 0.05m2. The emissivity of meat piece may be taken as 0.78. The meat piece is then kept in a deep freezer maintained at 20C. Considering the walls of the freezer also at 20C, perform the following, (i) Evaluate the radiation heat transfer, [8] (ii) In addition to the radiation, the heat is also transferred by convection from air at 20C to the meat piece. Evaluate the total heat transferred (radiation and convection together) from the piece of the meat. Take the convective heat transfer coefficient for the air inside the freezer as 15W/m2K
