Today is April 1, 2019. Assume that you got a job on January 1, 2019. Your salary is paid monthly at the end of each month. At the end of January 2019, your salary was: Every month, your salary will increase at the rate of: The first bonus is paid at the end of 2019 (i.e., December 31). The amount of the bonus in 2019 is the same as the sum of the salaries in July through December of 2019 (i.e., later 6 months' salaries in 2019). The second bonus is paid at the end of 2020 (i.e., December 31). The amount of the bonus in 2020 is the same as the sum of the salaries in July through December of 2020 (i.e., later 6 months' salaries in 2020). The third through 30th bonuses will be paid at the end of year 2021, 2022 and so on (the last bonus is paid in 2048). The amount of each of the third through 30th bonuses is the same as the sum of the salaries in July through December of that year (i.e., later 6 months' salaries). The monthly discount rate is: r.
