Qatar Airways is consistently recognized as one of the world's top airlines and has been the recipient of the airline industry's top award. Based on passenger interviews and surveys, the award assessed the customer experience in all cabin types, including first, business, and economy classes. More than 18.8 million passenger interviews yielded high satisfaction levels with 38 key service performance indicators, such as check-in and boarding procedures, comfort, in-flight entertainment, food, beverages, staff service, and others.
Passengers on Qatar Airways have many reasons to feel satisfied. First class seats supply 6.5 feet of legroom, down duvets, and flat-folding beds with built-in entertainment systems and massage functions. Business class passengers recline 173 degrees in seats with massage functions, and sip complimentary wine and champagne. New Boeing 787 aircraft are being designed in a 1-2-1 configuration to give aisle access to all passengers, who also view seat-back TVs with touch screens. In the company's home city of Doha, Qatar Airways offers a Premium Terminal and Lounge to first class and business class passengers.
The $90 million facility features expedited check-in, duty-free shops, conference rooms, a nursery and children's play area, spa services, a sauna and Jacuzzi, restaurants, and more. Recently, the 20-year-old airline changed its marketing slogan from "Taking You More Personally" to "World's 5-Star Airline" to reflect its world-class ranking. One of only six such airlines, Qatar Airways meets or exceeds at least 800 quality standards in service and product delivery, earning it "the ultimate Quality Approval for [an} airline achieving the highest overall quality performance."
Unlike the Best Airline award, which is based on customer feedback, these star ratings can only be achieved through competitive performance evaluations conducted by Skytrax's professional auditors, who review and adjust ratings every two to three months. The result is an internationally recognized, uniform star rating system that represents world-class performance standards in real time.
