Qingliang Compnay sells products to elderly customers, many of whom do not use electronic banking. The daily mail is opened by the receptionist who sorts and distributes it. Any cheques received in the mail handed to the accounting trainee who prepares a bank deposit slip (in duplicate) for that day. At the end of each week, all of the deposits prepared during that week are taken to the bank by the accounting trainee. Each duplicate deposit slip is stamped by the bank as proof of deposit and these are filed when the trainee returns from the bank. The accounting trainee prepares the monthly bank reconciliation and files it with the duplicate deposit slips. The receptionist handles all of the banking when the accounting trainee is on leave.
