QUESTION 10
Citing work withing one's formal writing following the APA style can be seen with ALL, except this example:
If the citation is at the end of the discussion, the author's last name and year of publication are separated by a comma and surrounded by parentheses: e.g.,(Jones,1986).
Since the citation is part of the last sentence, a period always follows the ending parenthesis of the citation
Citations appear either at the beginning of the text or at the end of the discussion.
If citing at the beginning of the text, the author's last name is identified and the year of publication is surrounded by parentheses: e.g., Jones (1986).
citations within your formal writing do not always need to be referenced especially if it is a conversation. When this happens it is understood with quotation marks.
To cite a specific part of a source, indicate the page, chapter, figure, table, or equation at the appropriate point in text. Always give page numbers for quotations.
Note that the words 'page' and 'chapter' are abbreviated in such text citations:
(Cheek & Buss, 1981, p.332) or (Shimamura,1989, chap. 3)
For electronic sources that do not provide page numbers, use the paragraph number, if available, preceded by the paragraph symbol or the abbreviation para. If neither paragraph nor page numbers are visible, cite the heading and the number of the paragraph following it to direct the reader to the location of the material (see section 3.39).(Myers,2000, para. 5)(Beutler,2000, Conclusion section, para. 1)
When citing an electronic source that does not provide page numbers, use the paragraph number, if available, preceded by the paragraph symbol or the abbreviation para.
NOTE: If neither paragraph nor page numbers are visible, cite the heading and the number of the paragraph following it to direct the reader to the location of the material (see section 3.39).
Examples: ((Myers,2000, uarr5) or (Beutler,2000, Conclusion section, para. 1)
The complete reference to any citation must be found in the Reference page unless the citation is a URL-web address located within the body of your written text, in this latter case, it is not included in your reference page.
